iGaming Ontario Reports Q2 Market Figures

iGaming Ontario (iGO) has shared data for the second quarter (Q2) of the 2023-24 fiscal year, from July 1 to September 30, 2023. The data covers all Operators active in this period.

In Q2, total wagers reached CA$14.2 bn (£8.56 bn/US$10.41 bn/€9.89 bn), showing a 132% increase from the same quarter the previous year, not including promotional wagers. The total gaming revenue was $540 million, up by 105% from Q2 the previous year. This revenue is the result of all cash wagers made by all Operators during this time, after deducting player winnings.

There were 47 active Operators and 71 gaming websites during this quarter. Around 943,000 player accounts had activity, but this doesn’t mean 943,000 individual players since one person can have multiple accounts.

The average spending per active player account for the quarter was $191.

Casino games, which include slots, table games, and bingo, made up about $11.9 bn of the wagers and brought in $407 million in revenue. Betting activities contributed about $1.9 B to the wagers and generated $118 million in revenue. Peer-to-peer poker had wagers of $397 million and revenue of $16 million.

iGO plans to share such data every quarter.
