NorthStar Gaming to Expand Betting Platform Across Canada

NorthStar Gaming Holdings Inc. intends to roll out its online casino and sportsbook, NorthStarBets.com, to all regions of Canada in the upcoming weeks. The platform, initially launched in Ontario in May 2022, will soon be available in every Canadian province and territory. In anticipation, NorthStar has initiated a widespread promotional campaign, encompassing various media like national advertising and social media. The campaign will also encompass in-market promotions related to major events across Canada over the next two months.

The platform offers a gaming experience that includes real-time sports news, statistics, and analysis. Customer service aims to resolve inquiries promptly, and the platform uses gaming content and technology from global providers. Additionally, it has been disclosed that Artificial Intelligence capabilities have been integrated to enhance user experiences by adapting to individual preferences.

The nationwide launch is projected to widen NorthStar’s market and facilitate its growth within the igaming industry. By 2026, the Canadian online sports betting and igaming market is predicted to be worth $8.5 billion, with a notable portion of this market situated outside Ontario. The expansion aims to leverage NorthStar’s investments in infrastructure, human resources, content, and marketing. Furthermore, establishing a customer base across the nation is expected to position NorthStar beneficially as provinces formulate their regulatory frameworks.

NorthStarBets.com will be operated through a subsidiary acquired earlier this year, as a result of purchasing Slapshot Media Inc., as part of a strategy for national expansion. Existing customers in Ontario will continue to use the NorthStarBets.ca website.

“We are thrilled to take this groundbreaking step and become a truly national brand. As a Canadian company, we are confident we understand local consumers better than the large international competitors and that we offer a premium experience that best meets their needs,” said Michael Moskowitz, Chair and CEO of NorthStar Gaming. “We expect the Canada-wide launch to be an important catalyst that drives growth in our customer base and revenues for years to come.”
