ParUp Golf Launches with App Developed by The Unit

ParUp Golf has launched a new mobile app aimed at improving the experience of amateur golf groups, with the application built by UK-based product development company The Unit. The app is positioned as a digital tool to manage group golf days, with future plans to incorporate social betting features into its offering.

Available to download on both iOS and Android, the ParUp Golf app is designed for casual golf players and societies to organise and track rounds, including scheduling events, managing scorecards, and monitoring performance via live leaderboards. The app currently supports more than 39,000 golf courses globally and includes tools for highlighting key event information, handling payments, and creating team formats and side games.

The technology partner behind the app, The Unit, specialises in developing tailored platforms for sports betting and igaming. The company handled the full development cycle of ParUp Golf, delivering a native application focused on ease of use, scalability, and monetisation.

ParUp Golf was founded by Ian Lowther and Andy Dymock, both of whom have held senior roles at established gambling brands including Betway, BetVictor, Ladbrokes, and Merkur. The duo has drawn on their experience in digital engagement and player retention to shape the product roadmap.

A key future feature will be a peer-to-peer betting component, which will allow users to create side games and pool bets during rounds, with winnings distributed among participants. This addition is expected to bring a new dimension of social interactivity and gamification to the user experience, aligning with broader trends in igaming and recreational betting.

The collaboration marks another example of The Unit’s continued involvement in igaming-related innovation, with its development capabilities increasingly being applied to crossover products at the intersection of sport, tech and gaming.

Paddy Casey, Co-founder at The Unit, said: “We are very proud to have played our part in bringing ParUp Golf to market. It’s an innovative and incredibly useful platform that will add more excitement and gamification to the recreational, social golf experience.

“While The Unit is primarily associated with sports betting and iGaming, the production of the ParUp Golf app as a sports app in its first iteration is proof of how we can diversify and adapt our offering to different domains, formats and game types.

“Custom mobile app development is a key part of our core offering, and we are thrilled to be able to bring that expertise to the world of golf. We wish Ian, Andy and their team all the best with ParUp Golf and we’re very excited to see how it will grow in the coming years.”

Ian Lowther said: “We have launched ParUp Golf with the aim of making recreational group golf easier to manage and more fun to play. By partnering with The Unit, we have given ourselves the best possible chance of success.

“The technology provided by The Unit allows ParUp to create and maintain a more inclusive, more interactive, and more memorable golfing journey – via high-quality, easy-to-use reliable tech.

Andy Dymock said: “We will keep working with The Unit as we continue to grow. And with our background in sports betting, we are perfectly positioned to introduce social betting features into an upcoming phase of our launch. This will be one of several new features still to come, so watch this space!”
