Sportradar has entered into a partnership with the Taiwan Sports Lottery. This relationship has been established following a detailed international tender process and is scheduled to be effective from 2024 to 2033, with the aim to make changes in the sports betting landscape in Taiwan. The arrangement is part of a consortium, a group that will manage the Taiwan Sports Lottery during this time frame.
Within the consortium, ADATA Technology holds the license, Taiwan Sports Lottery Company Ltd (TSLC) operates, and China Trust Bank is also included. The third Sports Lottery License from the Taiwan Government’s Sports Administration was issued to this consortium in December 2022.
The ORAKO platform, a sportsbook and player account management tool developed by Sportradar, will be implemented in over 2,600 retail locations in Taiwan and also on various digital platforms, providing a wide-reaching user experience. Sportradar will supply the Lottery with various platforms and services, including ORAKO Sports Betting and Player Management platform, Managed Trading Services, and data and odds for both Pre-match and Live events, as well as Audiovisual streaming and Marketing services. Furthermore, equipment like customized lottery terminals and printers, and digital multimedia displays will be supplied to retail locations.
A local team will also be established by Sportradar in Taipei. This team will work to provide operational support alongside TSLC’s team members in Taiwan to ensure consistent operations and support during the partnership in the igaming industry.
Carsten Koerl, Chief Executive Officer, Sportradar, said: “Our experience working with government-run lotteries around the world, coupled with our innovative technology and end-to-end ORAKO solution means Sportradar is well-placed to operate as part of a successful consortium for the Taiwan Sports Lottery. We’re able to bring the full range of betting services to deliver a high-quality and consistent experience for people playing the games, whether they’re in retail outlets, playing via the internet or on their mobile devices.”
Ted Lin, President of Taiwan Sports Lottery Company Ltd, said: “Our aim is to redefine the sports betting experience and Sportradar has a full suite of technological solutions to help us achieve that. With a proven track record of working with established lottery providers globally, we look forward to harnessing the synergies with Sportradar to transform the sports betting landscape in Taiwan.”
