Top 8 iGaming Events that may or may not happen, Guest Post by Arcadem

There’s an industry that has experienced growth like no other over the last 20 years.

Of course, we’re talking about the iGaming industry. Just in case you were wondering, iGaming is described as an entertaining activity that consists of odds, games of chance, betting, and any other game that include an element of chance.

It is not surprising that an industry grossing close to $30 billion per annum – and counting – would spike the interest of millions. Therefore, every year, dozens of exhibitions, expos, and summits are held in major cities across the globe to explore the latest trends, new technologies, regulations, and more.

Needless to say, these events are faithful – and very much anxiously – awaited by experts, businesses, and fans.

Year after year these events’ agendas get more exciting.

Thus, the 2020 iGaming Events calendar was no different and quite possibly even bigger, and better. But, alas, the Covid-19 pandemic altered the year and our ability to travel and gather normally.

These restrictions and the consequences of the crisis have naturally impacted all sorts of events. However, the centuries-old world of game and play will not be held back by such an obstacle.

While uncertainty abounds when it comes to physical set-ups, the emergence of virtual technology and remote participation may have saved a few events.

The internet revolutionized games of chance by making them widely available online to the recreational player, the seasonal sports fan, and the pundit. And now, once again, the internet saves the day by allowing remote and online events to take place.

So, what events are still on, what has been rescheduled or cancelled, and which have moved online?

Here is a concise list of iGaming events that are lined up for the rest of this year:

1. G2E LAS VEGAS 2020

Going virtual: October 27-28, 2020

The Global Gaming Expo (G2E) 2020 scheduled for October 5-8 in Las Vegas has been cancelled due to the unknowns surrounding global travel and public gatherings restrictions. While in-person gatherings may not be possible in 2020, G2E is committed to providing opportunities for the global gaming industry through virtual events this October.

2. ICE AFRICA 2020

28 – 29 October 2020

As Africa’s premier B2B gaming event, ICE Africa brings to the gaming community thought leadership, training, and business prospects with the industry’s most influential specialists and investors. Due to the health crisis, the event is going digital this year. The 3-day hub will feature industry leaders and discuss the future of iGaming in the fast-changing world.

3-4 December 2020

The iGG2020 brings together gaming industry leaders from across Europe. Get up to speed with the gaming world in Germany and acquire knowledge about the regulatory framework in the region.

8-9 December 2020

In light of the unstable global situation, the renowned summit has made the strategic decision to postpone its event until December.

Featuring high-profile experts as speakers, from the European Casinos Association to Caesar’s Entertainment, eSport Betting, Lotto24, to the European Betting and Gaming Association and other representatives from educational and semi-governmental organizations. Many more businesses, institutions, and the crème de la crème of the gaming world are expected to attend.

This is one that’s not to be missed.

Postponed until 16-18 February 2021

Two large expos – SiGMA and AIBC – are merging and pushing the boundaries of the gaming world. Experts and innovation leaders will lead the discussion in the fields of blockchain, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, and FinTech. Following the recommendations of health authorities in Malta, the anticipated event has been rescheduled to next year.

The Venetian Macao, May 25-27, 2021

Manila Mariott Hotel, November 10-11, 2021

Prioritizing health and safety during this global crisis, the famous G2E Asia event has been postponed until 2021. The Asian market is certainly the biggest in the entertainment industry. That’s the reason why G2E is considered to be a key gaming and entertainment business hub. It is without a doubt the must-attend for any aficionado or investor in the field. 95% of Asian casino operators attend this expo in search of the very latest trends. And while delayed, the Godzilla of gaming events plans to have the upcoming events shine as bright as ever.

29-30 June 2021 and July 1st & 2nd

In line with safety measures and further social distancing expected this year, the next edition of ICE London and iGB Affiliate London has been confirmed for June 2021 at ExCel London, UK.

8. IGB LIVE 2021

Rescheduled: 28 September – 1 October 2021

To ensure a safe environment, iGB Live! & iGB Affiliate Amsterdam will also be rescheduling their event to September 2021, which is expected to be held at the RAI Amsterdam. In addition to this change, they have set up an online community to keep growing and stay connected.
