Tote Offers Exclusive Access to French Pools for Arc Weekend

This weekend, the Tote is providing British and Irish pool betting customers exclusive access to the substantial pools from the PMU, France’s premier pool betting operator, for the prestigious Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe meeting.

Since September 2023, the Tote has been the only platform for British and Irish racing fans to access the significant PMU pools, including all races from the Arc meeting on Saturday, 5th October, and Sunday, 6th October. The Arc weekend traditionally sees pool sizes exceeding €750,000 per race, with an impressive total of over €17.5 million across the meeting.

Pool betting through the Tote allows customers to wager without restrictions, regardless of stake size, ensuring bettors never miss out on winnings. In addition, free race streams are available on tote.co.uk throughout the weekend.

Last year’s event showcased the value in these French pools. Examples include:

  • Prix Jean Luc Lagardere: Winner Rosallion overpaid by 29% (£7.10 vs 9/2) due to local backing of French favourite Beauvatier.
  • Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe: A £420,717.50 Swinger pool paid £4.30 for Ace Impact (1st) and Westover (2nd), and £19.40 for Ace Impact (1st) and Onesto (3rd).
  • Prix de la Foret: Winner Kelina overpaid by 25% (£28.80 vs SP of 22/1).

The Tote is also offering two popular French bets that provide access to these large pools: Quinella (select the first two finishers in any order) and Swinger (pick two horses to finish in the top three in any order).

Jordan Hopkins, the Tote’s French racing specialist, said: “There is exceptional value to be found in the French pools this weekend, and crucially punters can bet with unrestricted stakes, into a highly liquid market. Particular focus should be placed on races where there is a hotly fancied French-trained runner, as excessive local support makes for a distorted pool that offers overpays on the rest of the market with respect to industry SP. For example, Zarigana will most likely start the odds-on favourite in the Prix Marcel Boussac on Sunday, which should offer value in the pool on the rest of the field.”

Throughout the weekend, the Tote will offer a Placepot and the six most popular single-leg pools:

  • Win – Pick the race winner
  • Place – Pick a horse to place
  • Exacta – Pick the first two horses in the correct order
  • Trifecta – Select the top three horses in the correct order
  • Quinella – Select the first two finishers in any order
  • Swinger – Pick two horses to finish in the top three in any order

This weekend presents a unique chance for bettors to engage with the lucrative French racing pools while enjoying the best racing action from Longchamp.
