888 Holdings Appoints Ian Gallagher as New Chief Product Officer

888 Holdings, a prominent player in the iGaming industry, has announced the appointment of Ian Gallagher as its Chief Product Officer. Gallagher assumed his new role in December and is now responsible for overseeing the product vision, strategy, and development across 888 Holdings’ diverse global brands and business units, including 888, William Hill, Mr Green, and Sports Illustrated.

In his role, Gallagher leads the teams comprising product managers, engineers, designers, and marketers, focusing on product innovation and user experience. His extensive experience in the gaming sector includes his most recent position as Product Director at Flutter Entertainment, where he served from January 2021 to February 2023.

Gallagher’s career in the gaming industry spans over a decade, with significant roles at Paddy Power Betfair. His tenure there included two five-year periods, from July 2009 to January 2015 and again from January 2016 to January 2021, where he held various product-related positions in gaming and e-gaming, as well as serving as Casino Operations Manager.

Additionally, Gallagher held the position of Casino Senior Manager at Rational Group from February 2015 to December 2015, prior to its rebranding as The Stars Group.

The appointment of Gallagher comes at a pivotal time for 888 Holdings, as the company embarks on a corporate reorganization in 2024, led by Group CEO Per Widerström, who took on the role in October 2023. This reorganization aims to bring profitable growth back to the business and to maximize value creation for the company. Gallagher’s experience and leadership are expected to be instrumental in achieving these strategic goals.

Ian Gallagher commented: “I’m happy to share that I’ve started a new position as Chief Product Officer at 888 Holdings. I am excited to work with Per Widerström and his team to help shape and grow the iconic brands that we have.”
