BetMGM and Revolutionary Racing Establish Market Access Agreement in Kentucky

BetMGM and Revolutionary Racing Kentucky (RRKY) have signed a market access agreement. This move allows BetMGM to potentially launch its sports betting platform in Kentucky, both online and in retail format, upon the state’s legalization and regulation of sports betting.

The agreement outlines plans for BetMGM to introduce an online sports betting system in Kentucky, contingent on the establishment of a regulated market and receiving the required licensing and regulatory approval. Concurrently, BetMGM and RRKY plan to open a 5,200 square-foot retail sportsbook at Sandy’s Racing & Gaming in Ashland, Kentucky.

Subsequent to the sportsbook opening, there are plans for a quarter-horse racetrack and equestrian center on a nearby 182-acre property, with the first races expected to occur in 2025.

In conjunction with its expansion into new markets, BetMGM has integrated GameSense into its mobile and desktop platforms. GameSense is a program developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, and licensed to MGM Resorts, that offers tools and resources for responsible gambling. This program complements the existing responsible gambling measures offered by BetMGM to provide a secure user experience.

“Kentucky has a rich history in sports and a passionate fan base,” said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt. “Revolutionary Racing is an ideal partner, enabling us to deliver an entertaining and responsible gaming experience, while investing in the state through job creation and tax revenue.”

“We promised to bring a world-class facility to Ashland and wanted a world-class partner for online sports wagering across the Commonwealth and at our sportsbook lounge,” said Revolutionary Racing CEO Prentice Salter. “We’ve got that with BetMGM.”
