DraftKings Expands Responsible Gaming Initiatives with Kindbridge in 25 States

DraftKings Inc. has announced the extension of its initiative with Kindbridge Behavioral Health to offer therapy and treatment services for individuals facing problem gaming issues across all 25 states where DraftKings operates online gaming, including sports betting and iGaming products. This collaboration underscores DraftKings’ commitment to responsible gaming and builds upon a successful pilot program initiated with Kindbridge in Colorado in September 2023.

The program, initially launched in Colorado, provided targeted support to sports bettors through a range of services including educational materials, assessment calls, and counseling sessions. Following the positive impact of the pilot, the partnership has been broadened to ensure that every customer in DraftKings’ operational territories, including Ontario, can benefit from comprehensive mental health assessments, connections to care providers, and personalized care plans when they choose to self-exclude from gaming activities.

This enhanced partnership between DraftKings and Kindbridge reinforces the former’s dedication to promoting player well-being and responsible gaming practices. It aims not only to support individuals in need but also to gather insights into the effectiveness of various treatment resources available through online gaming platforms. Both organizations are committed to continually evaluating and improving the program, ensuring it remains in line with the highest industry standards and best practices for responsible gaming.

“We appreciate the opportunity to deepen our collaboration with Kindbridge Behavioral Health and strengthen our commitment to providing important resources to those experiencing potential indications of problem gaming,” said DraftKings Chief Compliance Officer Jennifer Aguiar. “We want everyone on our platform to engage in responsible play and we are committed to educating consumers on the multitude of resources offered. For those who recognize signs of problem gaming and decide to utilize our tools to self-exclude, they now have access to therapy and treatment free of cost through Kindbridge Behavioral Health.”

“DraftKings’ integration of direct care into their platform, in collaboration with Kindbridge across 25 states, marks a significant step in enhancing player health. This effort underlines our commitment to combat problem gaming with personalized, accessible support,” stated Daniel Umfleet, CEO of Kindbridge. “This collaboration sets a new industry benchmark for comprehensive care, ensuring swift and essential support is accessible to those in need.”
