FanDuel TV has launched The Comeback With Craig Carton, a new program dedicated to raising awareness about problem gambling and recovery. Hosted by Craig Carton, FanDuel’s responsible gaming ambassador and FS1’s Breakfast Ball host, the show shares personal stories from individuals who have experienced the challenges of gambling addiction. The series aims to reduce stigma, highlight available support resources, and reinforce that recovery is possible.
The premiere episode, now streaming on YouTube and FanDuel TV Extra, features former NBA player Randy Livingston discussing his journey with gambling addiction, including the impact on his life, his lowest moments, and the steps he took toward recovery. His wife, Anita Ondine Smith, also joins the conversation to provide insight into the warning signs she observed and the effects on their marriage. The couple recently became FanDuel responsible gaming ambassadors, supporting the launch of Trusted Voices: Conversations About Betting, a new initiative that provides parents, guardians, and coaches with resources to educate young people about gambling risks and available support services.
Beyond personal stories of recovery, The Comeback will explore key topics such as money management, self-exclusion, responsible gaming tools, and access to support services. New episodes will be released monthly on Mondays at 10:00 am ET on FanDuel TV Extra and FanDuel’s YouTube channel. Viewers can also subscribe to The Comeback With Craig Carton on Substack for updates on interviews, episodes, and responsible gaming resources.
Craig Carton, a well-known sports media personality and problem gambling advocate, was named FanDuel’s first national responsible gaming ambassador in 2021. Leveraging his personal experiences, he has played a key role in initiatives such as the Responsible Gaming College Tour, an educational program designed to inform college students about gambling risks and available support. FanDuel’s Responsible Gaming Ambassador Program continues to collaborate with experts and advocates to promote responsible gaming practices across the industry.
“As someone who has personally navigated the challenges of gambling addiction, I understand the impact it can have on your life and the lives of those you care about,” Craig Carton said. “The road to recovery isn’t easy, but I’ve committed myself to helping others who are facing similar struggles. My mission for this show is to inspire hope, offer support, and remind everyone that the path to regaining control starts with understanding.”
“Our hope for The Comeback With Craig Carton is to raise awareness of problem gambling and foster open dialogue to tackle the stigma that still exists today,” said FanDuel’s Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Sustainability Cory Fox. “Whether those conversations are amongst friends, spouses, parents or coaches, we want to educate our audience on what the warning signs are and be comfortable asking for help.”
