Fitzdares Receives Licence to Operate in Ontario

Fitzdares has received its iGaming Operator Registration from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) this month and will bring its world-class betting service to Canada in the coming weeks.

Named as one of the very first sports betting and iCasino operators to have its registration approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the premium British bookmaker will launch this summer, subject to the execution of an Operating Agreement with iGaming Ontario and final approvals.

With over 140 years of heritage, Fitzdares is ready for this exciting step, allowing them to bring their slick experience and personal touch to the regulated Canadian market. Upon the launch of the Ontario operation, Canada will join the United Kingdom and Ireland to become the third country where Fitzdares operates real-money online gaming. Prospective members in Ontario are now able to pre-register their interest in Fitzdares and receive launch updates at

Fitzdares’ first North American launch will be complemented by their members’ club, The Fitzdares Club, which will open its doors in Toronto next year. The Toronto Fitzdares Club will provide members a homely yet luxurious setting to watch live sport, complemented by legendary British hospitality.

The Fitzdares Club portfolio currently comprises a Members’ Club in Mayfair (London) and Cheltenham (Gloucestershire, UK), as well as a beautiful 18-hole golf course and several trackside pop-ups.

William Woodhams, Fitzdares CEO said: “We are truly excited to be launching the Fitzdares experience in Ontario in the coming months. Receiving our AGCO licence is a landmark achievement for the business. There will be huge competition in this newly-regulated market, but we feel our more premium and customer-focused experience will be an ideal fit. Work is very much underway to ensure that we deliver on our promise – in style. I would like to thank the teams at both the AGCO and iGaming Ontario for supporting us with our application and preparations for launch.”
