Goldenpark Utilizes GiG for Ontario Market Expansion

Goldenpark is set to expand its digital footprint into Ontario’s regulated igaming sector, powered by the award-winning platform of the Gaming Innovation Group (GiG), thereby extending an already fruitful collaboration between the two entities and marking Goldenpark’s inaugural venture beyond the Iberian Peninsula.

Previously having solidified its online presence in Spain and recently initiating operations under a new license in Portugal, Goldenpark plans to further embed itself in the burgeoning igaming industry by harnessing GiG’s robust experience and state-of-the-art technology in Ontario. GiG’s proficiency is evident with five partners either presently active or under development in the region, offering a solid foundation upon which Goldenpark intends to cultivate and deliver a meticulously localized and tailored customer experience.

GiG places paramount importance on nurturing relationships with its partners, offering open, customizable, and adaptable technology, and allowing access to more than 30 regulated markets—with an additional eight markets in the developmental phase. Such initiatives empower operators with unprecedented control over their brands, facilitating seamless navigation through the complexities of the global igaming environment.

Ontario’s igaming market, which was inaugurated in April 2022, has experienced a meteoric rise, evidenced by generating an estimated C$35.6bn ($26.41bn) in total wagers by the close of July 2023. Moreover, it has accrued approximately C$1.4bn ($1.04bn) in total gaming revenue and successfully engaged over 1.6 million monthly players, serviced by a network of over 40 licensed operators, as per data from iGaming Ontario (iGO).

As Goldenpark embarks on its expansion into Ontario, utilizing the technologically advanced and widely recognized platform provided by GiG, it navigates a path of strategic growth within the igaming sector, signaling a promising trajectory for both the operator and supplier in a progressively dynamic and competitive market. This collaborative effort not only strengthens the prevailing partnership but also signifies a strategic move towards exploring and establishing a presence in new, regulated igaming markets.

Marcel Elfersy, CCO of GiG said: “The Ontario online market is a significantly strong one for GiG, and as a valued existing partner we’re delighted to be able to take Goldenpark into North America for the first time. It’s a testament to the strength and flexibility of our offering, and the relationship we’ve built with Goldenpark that we are able to explore and grow new opportunities together.”

José Giacomelli, Consejero Delegado of MGA Online Division, said: “One of Goldenpark’s biggest challenges for 2024 is the launch of our Ontario operation. Ontario represents a vibrant and rapidly growing market, and we believe that together with GiG, Goldenpark will meet its goals. This agreement signifies not just a geographical expansion, but also an evolution in how both companies envision the future, seize opportunities, and tackle challenges. As always, our core commitment is to our customers and to delivering top-tier solutions, and we are confident that this partnership will allow us to further elevate that standard.”
