The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has announced the launch of The Suspicious Betting Reporting Mechanism (SBRM).
This tool lets their licensed operators report suspicious betting activity to the regulator’s dedicated unit.
From today, the tool is available to all Malta-licensed operators that offer sports betting.
This comes after original availability of 1st January 2020.
The MGA stated that this is to prepare for a smoother transition and to make any necessary changes prior to the official date next year.
All operators must begin to use SBRM from the start of 2021, with the MGA to provide licensees with a manual directing them on how to use the new system.
The MGA also said that it would offer periodic updates on progress so that operators could update their customers.
