Midnite, the official betting and casino partner of the 2025 World Snooker Championship, has announced a new promotional initiative offering £25,000 to a randomly selected spectator in the event of a 147 maximum break during the tournament.
Known as the “Midnite Maximum,” the initiative will see one seat number randomly drawn at the start of each session at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre. Should a player complete a maximum break during that session, the selected audience member will receive a £25,000 prize.
A 147 is considered snooker’s highest individual achievement. There have been 14 recorded at the Crucible since the tournament began, including two during the 2023 edition. This year’s competition begins Saturday and concludes with the final on May 5.
The announcement coincides with Welsh player Jackson Page making history in the qualifying rounds by becoming the first professional to score two 147 breaks in a single match.
Founded in 2018 by Nick Wright and Daniel Qu, Midnite initially entered the igaming market with its sportsbook and has since expanded its offering to include horse racing and casino products. The company’s team has grown from 60 to 110 employees over the past year, as it continues to invest in brand-building and event partnerships across the UK market.
Co-founder Wright said: “At Midnite, we’re passionate about bringing fans closer to the games they love.
“The Crucible theatre is one of the most intimate venues in world sport and it is never more electric than when a player is closing in on a maximum break.
“With Midnite Maximum, our aim is to bring fans even closer to the emotion and tension that the players experience when achieving snooker perfection.”
