World Pool, the global leader in commingled horse racing pools, has announced its partnership with renowned jockey Ryan Moore for the 2025 season. Moore, a four-time recipient of the LONGINES World’s Best Jockey title, will serve as an ambassador for World Pool, which is powered by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
As the stable jockey for Aidan O’Brien’s Ballydoyle operation, Moore has a distinguished career, riding Group 1 winners at racecourses worldwide. His role as an ambassador for World Pool will include providing regular insights through blogs and participating in advertising and marketing campaigns. Moore will be riding in several high-profile World Pool meetings throughout the year, further strengthening the global reach of the brand.
In 2024, World Pool contributed £50 million to British and Irish racecourses, marking a significant milestone for the global betting pool. The 2024 season concluded with a record-breaking 12-race composite card, which included British Champions Day at Ascot. This event generated HK$424.1 million (£48 million) in World Pool betting turnover, setting a new high for a single day of betting. The season’s total turnover reached HK$4.6 billion (approximately £455 million), underscoring World Pool’s expanding influence on global horse racing.
Looking ahead to 2025, World Pool continues to make strides in new markets. The betting pool made its debut in New Zealand with Railway Stakes Day and has added fixtures in Australia, Hong Kong, and the UAE to its growing portfolio.

This collaboration with Ryan Moore represents a further effort by World Pool to connect with a global audience and enhance its international presence in the world of horse racing betting.
World Pool ambassador Moore said: “World Pool has been such an important addition to the entire racing industry over the past few years and I’m delighted to be an ambassador for the brand.
“The Hong Kong Jockey Club should be congratulated for all the effort and investment they’ve put into it. I’ve always said that Hong Kong is the blueprint for the way horseracing should be run, and World Pool is helping to amplify the very best racing on a global stage. It’s great that racing fans from around the world get the chance to bet into these large pools.
“It’s important that the racing world starts to work together, and to have everyone pulling in the same direction. If we’re speaking with one voice and trying to achieve the same goals it will really help the whole sport to prosper. World Pool plays a big part in that, and I look forward to being part of that journey.”
Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, Chief Executive Officer at the Hong Kong Jockey Club, said: “Ryan Moore has been at the pinnacle of our sport for many years and it is fitting that a world-class jockey of such international renown and respect is an ambassador for World Pool.
“Not only is Ryan a world-class jockey, he is also a highly intelligent individual who is passionate about racing and its future. He recognises the benefits that World Pool provides to racing all over the world and we couldn’t think of a better person to represent the brand.
“As a four-time winner of the LONGINES World’s Best Jockey Award, Ryan’s accomplishments in horse racing jurisdictions around the world speak to his professionalism and his advocacy of the World Pool’s positive impact on horseracing globally aligns with our vision.
“We had a strong 2024 with World Pool and we are continuing to grow it in 2025 with more fixtures, more races and more split cards. New Zealand is hosting World Pool races for the first time, while all 12 Hong Kong Group 1s in 2025 will be run under the World Pool banner.”
