Unibet Elevates Women’s Boxing with Ambassador Sponsorship

Kindred Group plc is making a significant investment in women’s boxing in the United Kingdom by sponsoring three world champion boxers as brand ambassadors for its leading brand, Unibet. This sponsorship represents the most extensive ambassador agreement ever made with active female boxers in the UK, both in terms of duration and financial commitment.

Unibet has entered into a 12-month sponsorship with champions Raven Chapman, Ellie Scotney, and Nina Hughes, marking a significant move into women’s boxing. Raven Chapman, associated with Frank Warren’s Queensbury Promotions, holds the title of WBC International Champion. Ellie Scotney, part of Shane McGuigan’s stable, recently clinched the IBF World Super-Bantamweight Championship by defeating Cherneka Johnson. Nina Hughes has been the WBA Bantamweight world champion since July 2022. This partnership outpaces any previous commercial agreements in the UK boxing scene in both length and value.

Kindred’s approach to sponsorship emphasizes responsible and sustainable contributions to sports organizations and their surrounding communities. The group has made considerable investments in community and club initiatives, including the #TeamTalk mental health projects. These projects are designed to offer a supportive environment for open conversations about mental health, with backing from notable sports figures like Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard.

“Interest in women’s boxing is booming, and we felt it was imperative for Kindred to double down on our commitment to the sport – and these three fantastic fighters in particular. We couldn’t think of three better brand ambassadors for Kindred, as they encapsulate everything that is great about boxing. We can’t wait for what the next year will bring for them all, and we hope that Kindred’s support helps drive them to even bigger and better achievements”, says Sam Mead, General Manager Kindred Group.

“Unibet has made a clear commitment to women’s boxing, and it’s exciting to be part of it. In speaking to them, it was clear that their ambitions for the sport match mine, and their support will be invaluable to me as my career develops”, says Raven Chapman, WBC International Champion.
