DraftKings to Introduce Online Sportsbook in Maine with Passamaquoddy Tribe

DraftKings Inc. has unveiled its intentions to initiate an online sportsbook in Maine, contingent upon obtaining the necessary licensing and regulatory clearances. This move was facilitated by an agreement with the Passamaquoddy Tribe.

This app delivers various wagering possibilities, from pre-match to in-game betting, along with distinctive, internally developed same-game-parlay functions.

Following the unfortunate incidents in Lewiston, ME on October 25, DraftKings has pledged a donation of $100,000 to the Lewiston-Auburn Area Response Fund. This is a gesture to extend assistance to those afflicted. Leveraging Maine Community Foundation (MaineCF) as the intermediary, the entire amount donated will be funneled towards the affected individuals and establishments instrumental in Lewiston-Auburn’s recuperative journey. The allocation of the Lewiston-Auburn Area Response Fund’s donations will involve comprehensive local consultation, incorporating insights from MaineCF’s state-wide board, the active participation of MaineCF’s Androscoggin County Committee, and community-oriented steering panels.

Being a fervent member of the American Gaming Association (AGA), DraftKings ardently promotes the AGA’s “Have A Game Plan.® Bet Responsibly™” initiative. This campaign enlightens patrons about the tenets of judicious gaming, emphasizing areas such as sticking to a predefined budget and solely dealing with legitimate, approved operators. In addition to this, DraftKings has showcased its commitment to fostering ethical and inclusive avenues for people via the DraftKings S.E.R.V.E.S. program in the igaming industry.
